Morgana Finishing for Dorset Digital Start-Up
Dorset Digital Print, a start-up business run by father and son partnership Brian and Robert McCarthy, has installed a range of Morgana equipment to finish output from a Xerox 700.
Recently returned from a six year sojourn in New Zealand where he was partner in a digital print business, Robert joined forces with his father who had previously run a successful litho operation in the UK.
They founded Dorset Digital on a philosophy involving absolute commitment to personal service together with the application of the latest and best technology. “We wanted the best combination of flexibility, functionality and ease of use”, says Robert, “and having decided on the Xerox 700, we wanted the finishing equipment that would best complement its performance.” The company went with Morgana because of Robert’s experience of a company that he regards as having pioneered many of the developments in digital finishing and the range of equipment installed included an AutoCreaser Pro 33, a Morgana Major folder, a Foldnak 8 bookletmaker and trimmer and an EBA programmatic guillotine.
“We aim to produce top quality work across a wide spectrum of short run colour work, including variable data printing,” says Robert, “and we believe that we have equipped ourselves to produce output of the highest standard.”
